Program overview

Who's this for?

This program is for beginner to lower intermediate riders with no or very little bicycle maintenance knowledge, adults and kids. The adults’ program is for participants 18+ and will be held on Saturday 18th November. The kids’ program will be held on Sunday 19th November and is for participants aged from 8 - 17 years. Both programs will be held at the Lysterfield mountain bike trails.

What to expect?

An action packed day filled with bike maintenance and mountain bike coaching! In the morning you will learn to service your own bike and feel more confident using the tools in case you run into some trouble out on the trails. We will have a gazebo set up with all the tools that you will need including bicycle work stands to make you feel like a pro while working on your own bike.

During the second half of the day we will venture out into the bush and refine your mountain bike skills.  The aim is to make you a faster, safer, and more confident rider. The program is designed to be safe, low pressure and importantly, fun! We can’t wait to welcome you on Australia’s first combined bike maintenance and coaching program!

What makes me qualified?

I have been in the cycling industry for more than seven years. I have managed multiple bicycle workshops for major brands including Trek and Giant. I have also worked as a head mountain bike coach and tour guide for a bike company in South East Queensland for a number of years. I also worked as a bike coach and mechanic for outdoor recreation companies that specialised in school and youth camps. I hold a PMBI (professional mountain bike instructor) certificate, First Aid certificate, Certificate 3 in Outdoor Recreation and has a current Working with children’s Card.
